Driving Directions to Main Campus (Orange)
Chapman University, Orange campus, is nestled in the heart of Southern California. The campus is located in the historic district of Old Towne Orange, one of the oldest residential communities in Orange County.
From the North
- Take 5 Freeway SOUTH
- Exit onto 22 Freeway EAST, Orange
- Take 22 Freeway EAST to Glassell St. Exit
- Exit on Glassell St., turn NORTH (left off the freeway exit ramp)
- Take Glassell St. NORTH to traffic circle
- Exit the second exit of the traffic circle (Glassell St. NORTH)
- Take Glassell St. NORTH to One University Drive
- Turn right on Walnut Ave. for campus parking in the Anderson Underground Parking Structure

From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and West Los Angeles
- Take 405 Freeway SOUTH

- Exit airport, turn left on MacArthur Blvd.

- Take Chapman Avenue West to traffic circle (Glassell St.)

Public Transportation to Main Campus (Orange)
By Train:
Chapman lies on the Orange County and the Inland Empire-Orange County lines of the Metrolink Regional Rail System, as well as the Amtrak Surfliner. Please visit the Metrolink site for help planning your route.
Riders from either direction can disembark at the Orange station and make the short walk to campus along Palm Avenue. Refer to the campus map for walking directions.
By Bus:
The main bus route serving Chapman’s Orange campus is OC Bus #59, which travels north-south along Glassell Boulevard with stops at Walnut and Palm next to the campus. After disembarking, refer to the campus map for walking directions.
OC Bus also serves the rest of Orange county. So if you buy a bus pass in Orange, you can access any bus route in Orange County.

Driving Directions to Rinker Health Science Campus (Irvine)
From I-5 North
- Merge onto I-5 North
- Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 92B for I-405 N/I-5 N/Bake Pkwy toward Long Beach
- Use the right lane to stay on Exit 92B and follow signs for Bake Pkwy
- Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto Bake Pkwy
- Continue on Bake Pkwy. Drive to Jeronimo Rd.
- Turn left onto Jeronimo Rd.
- Rinker Health Science Campus will on the right, just before Alton Pkwy.
From I-5 South
- Merge onto I-5 SOUTH
- Use the right lane to take exit 94 for Alton Parkway
- Merge onto Enterprise Dr.
- Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto Alton Parkway (signs for I-5 NORTH/Los Angeles)
- Take Alton Parkway to Jeronimo Road
- Turn right onto Jeronimo Road
- Rinker Health Science Campus will on the immediate left.
Public Transportation to Rinker Health Sciences Campus (Irvine)
By Train:
Rinker Health Sciences Campus is served by the Orange County and the Inland Empire-Orange County lines of the Metrolink Regional Rail System, as well as the Amtrak Surfliner. Please visit the Metrolink site for help planning your route.
Riders from either direction can disembark at the Irvine station. Rinker Campus is located two miles from the station. A free shuttle bus is available for faculty, staff and students with Chapman ID, or visitors can transfer to the #86 OC Bus, disembarking at Jeronimo-Alton. Refer to the campus map for walking directions.
By Bus:
The main bus route serving Rinker Health Sciences Campus is OC Bus #86, which travels past campus on Alton Parkway and Jeronimo. Disembark at the corner of Alton and Jeronimo, and refer to the campus map for walking directions.
OC Bus also serves the rest of Orange county. So if you buy a bus pass in Irvine, you can access any bus route in Orange County.

What Visitors Need to Know about Parking
Regulations
All parking areas are restricted 24 hours-per-day, seven days-per-week. During restricted
hours all vehicles must display a valid parking permit. You must purchase a short-term
parking permit unless you have received a pass in advance.
Where to Park
The West Campus Structure accessed via N. Cypress Street or the Marion Knott Studios
Lot at Palm and Lemon. After 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and all-day Friday-Sunday, visitors
may also park in the Barrera Structure at Sycamore and Lemon and the Anderson Structure
located off Walnut between Glassell and Center.
Permits at Marion Knott Studios Lot
Visitors may park in any unreserved space in the lot. Temporary permits are required and may be purchased from the permit
dispenser located in the rear parking area. Be sure to place the permit face-up on
your dashboard.
Permits in Barrera Structure
Visitors may only park after 4 p.m.. Monday – Thursday and all day Friday - Sunday
in any unreserved space. Visitor permits are required at all times and may be purchased
from one of the parking kiosks located on levels 1 and 3 in the north east corner
by the elevator. You can purchase a permit via the Pay-and-Display option which requires
the printed permit to be displayed on the dash of the vehicle or via the Pay-by-Plate
option which requires you to enter your license plate but does not require a paper
permit to be displayed on the vehicle.
Permits in Anderson Structure
Visitors may park in the 50 marked visitor spaces on the first floor prior to 4pm,
and in any unreserved space after 4 p.m. Monday – Thursday and all day Friday – Sunday.
Visitor permits are required at all times and may be purchased from one of the parking
kiosks located in the structure: NW corner, elevator lobby on the south end levels
B1 and B2, middle of the east wall level B1, or in the extension near the elevator
that leads into the Keck Science center. You can purchase a permit via the Pay-and-Display
option which requires the printed permit to be displayed on the dash of the vehicle
or via the Pay-by-Plate option which requires you to enter your license plate but
does not require a paper permit to be displayed on the vehicle.
Cost
$2 for 2 hours; $3 for 4 hours; $5 for 12 hours.
City Streets
The streets adjacent to campus are reserved for Orange resident-only permit parking.
The affected blocks are marked with red and white signs. It is likely that you will
be ticketed by the City of Orange if you park in one of these areas. Curb-side parking
is allowed only on the campus side of the University perimeter.

Bus Directions/Arrival Instructions
At Chapman, we always strive to be good neighbors. We recognize and acknowledge the fact that our campus is located within a unique and historic residential district, and as such, not all neighboring streets are approved for commercial vehicle use.

Driving Directions from Major Freeways
Arriving from the 22 (Garden Grove Freeway)
- Exit Glassell St.
- Go North, and processed through the Orange Plaza(Traffic Circle), continuing on Glassell St.
- Once you pass University Dr./Sycamore Ave., the Passenger Loading curb will be on the right-hand side of Glassell St. parallel to the Musco Center of the Arts
Arriving from the 57 (Orange Freeway)
- Exit W Chapman Ave. in Orange (exit 1D).
- Continue on W Chapman Ave. heading east
- At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto Glassell St.
- Once you pass University Dr./Sycamore Ave., the Passenger Loading curb will be on the right-hand side of Glassell St. parallel to the Musco Center of the Arts
Arriving from the 55 (Costa Mesa/Newport Freeway)
- Exit W Chapman Ave.
- Go one mile to the Orange Plaza (traffic circle)
- Turn right onto Glassell St. and go north
- Once you pass University Dr./Sycamore Ave., the Passenger Loading curb will be on the right-hand side of Glassell St. parallel to the Musco Center of the Arts
Bus Drop-Off Zone
All loading and unloading of buses must be done in the properly marked loading zone
on Glassell Street, just west of the Musco Center. Please input 401 N. Glassell Street into your GPS for easiest navigation.
Bus Waiting Area
While your group is on campus, short term bus parking is available in the Palm Ave. Lot.
From the designated bus drop-off zone: Proceed N on Glassell St. Turn left at the 1st cross street onto W Walnut Ave, then turn left onto N Batavia St. Turn left onto W Palm Ave and turn right at the signal for Depot Parking. Please input 502 W. Palm Avenue into your GPS for easiest navigation.
Drivers must stay with their buses at all times.
When you are ready to return back to campus to pick up your passengers, please use
the following route: Take Palm Ave east to Glassell St. and make a left. The loading
zone will be on your right just past Sycamore Ave.
