It is never too early to begin exploring the many prestigious nationally competitive
grants, scholarships, and fellowships available to support your research and creative
activity while at Chapman or to continue post-graduate opportunities and graduate
school funding.
CUE is here to guide you in all phases of the application process from start to finish.
Beginning with an individual meeting to find the best scholarship match for your interests,
abilities, and career goals, to attending workshops, one-on-one assistance in crafting
essays, grant proposals, and personal statements, tips on securing strong letters
of recommendation, and ensuring your application is completed on a timely basis; CUE
will work with you.
As these scholarships are very competitive, you should plan to invest a significant
amount of time and work. Most applications require essays, personal statements, research
proposals, and letters of recommendation. In order to be a competitive applicant,
you must start the process early and be prepared to go through multiple drafts of
your essays. Though time-consuming, you will learn a lot about yourself in the process.
Past students who have worked with our office remark that the application process
was highly rewarding whether or not they won the award. Scholarship essay writing
helps you develop skills that will be useful in many future aspects of your life.
In recent years, Chapman students have been awarded Rhodes Scholarships, Fulbright
US Student Scholarships, Critical Language Scholarships, Boren Fellowships, Gilman
Scholarships, Goldwater Scholarships, National Science Graduate Fellowships, and many
others. These distinguished awards have allowed them to take their education around
the world and become more enriched global citizens.
