The Provost’s Organizational Excellence Fund has been established in alignment with the University’s Strategic Plan initiative for Organizational Excellence, to inspire new, innovative strategies to transform systems and processes across campus. The fund will support awards for 1 to 2 team projects for enhancements in organizational effectiveness and efficiency and improved processes.

Up to $25,000 will be awarded between 1 – 2 project teams by a committee of faculty and staff appointed by the Long-Range Planning Committee (LRPC) that will review proposals based on defined eligibility and criteria.

Award Eligibility and Criteria  

Team Eligibility:

  • Teams must consist of at least 2 members
  • Teams may consist of faculty and/or staff/administrators 

Criteria:

Awards will be considered for projects meeting the criteria listed below.

  • Project should demonstrate concrete evidence that implementation will enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Project should demonstrate the building of a culture of collaboration and innovation, with a focus on outcomes in organizational excellence and the spirit of continuous improvements and stewardship of resources/resource
  • Project should have at its core a positive long-term impact on the university and improve the quality of the end-to-end process.

Additional Guidelines:

  • Project may span multiple areas across the university or focus on a specific school/college or entire department.
  • Project may focus on improving processes and services that enhance teaching and research, scholarly and creative inquiry.
  • Awards may support team members, stipends, or other project expenses necessary to complete the project, as determined by the award recipients.
  • Award recipients will have from the announcement of the award (anticipated May 2025) through May 31, 2026, to complete the project and submit a final report to the LRPC.

Call for Proposals

  • Project proposal submission deadline: Friday, February 7, 2025, at 5 pm
  • Project proposals must include:
    • Team members’ names and whether they are faculty or staff/administrators
    • Department(s), unit(s) and/or school(s)/college(s)
    • Contact information for all team members
    • Project description, timeline, and budget
