Off-campus jobs
Another great option is working off campus. You can find plenty of job opportunities in the area — including many within walking distance of campus.
Old Towne Orange
Chapman is just two blocks from Old Towne Orange, a historic district where plenty of students find work (restaurants, coffee shops, clothing stores, etc.). Take a short walk through Old Towne, and you’ll find a “Now Hiring” sign or two.
Land one of these jobs, and you can easily walk from class to work.
Internships
Internships aren’t just a great way to get work experience and earn academic credit at the same time. They’re critical to the college experience. And on top of that, some internships will even pay you.
That’s why over 80% of Chapman students do an internship during their academic career.
Doing an internship in college will help you:
- Learn valuable skills you can use in the professional world.
- Earn academic credit and/or get paid.
- Get experience doing what you’re passionate about.
- Network with people in the field (and maybe even line up a job for after you graduate).
You can find internships by:
- Going to a career expo on campus (we hold them every semester).
- Talking to your career advisor.
- Asking your professors.
