»Apply for the Community Involvement Grant
There will be 2 total grants available per semester and funding is up to $500 per grant. A student organization can only receive one grant per semester. The project must be completed before the end of the current semester and priority will be given to those projects that can be completed within four weeks of application. The projects must be within the City of Orange and strictly used for, programs and activities that help build a sense of community. Please reference the acceptable examples and exclusion list for more details.
Requirements
- Complete micro-grant application below
- Provide photos and/or videos, and quotes from students and beneficiary after the proposed project is completed. This information may be used by Chapman for marketing purposes.
- Complete post-project survey.
Examples of Acceptable Projects
This list is not exhaustive, and any project that provides a benefit or builds a sense of community will be considered.
- Neighborhood or community repairs
- Beautification projects (parks, schools, neighborhood)
- Community education program
- Environmental cleanup (trash pickup, park clean up, school clean up)
- COVID or first aid care kits
- Sports training program
- Services for those experiencing homelessness
- Food distribution for at-risk individuals or groups
Restricted Uses
The grant funds cannot be used for the following. This is not an exhaustive list and other requests may be denied.
- Cannot be used for a student organization fundraiser
- Cannot be used as a donation
- Cannot be used for political or religious purposes
- Projects outside the city of Orange will not be considered at this time
