Brandishing a Knife & Theft

ALERT#: 2024-01
REPORTED OFFENSE: A person used a knife to remove several flags that were part of a display. The person
walked away with the knife in his hand still carrying the flags. The owners of the
flags followed the suspect. The suspect noticed that he was being followed and stopped
and approached the students with the knife in his hand. DPS arrived as the students
were running away. DPS officers detained the suspect and confiscated the knife. The
Orange Police department arrived shortly and placed the suspect under arrest for brandishing
the knife and theft of the flags.
DATE & TIME OF OCCURRENCE: April 30th at 11:55pm.
LOCATION: Leatherby Library/Piazza
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Male, 5’7”-5’8”, light complexion, 34 years old, brown hair, wearing a red, L.A Angels
hooded sweater, and blue shorts.
