Educational Technology: Virtual reality training, the Digital Doctor’s Bag ®

Early Entry Clinical Training: Starting in the first semester students work with standardized patients in the Clinical Skills Lab. An electronic medical record system (EMR) in the Clinical Skills Lab ensures that learners will be competent in EMR data entry when they begin rotations in the third-year.

Embedded Education: If you are going to have the privilege of treating and operating on patients, our philosophy is that you should be a physician first and a specialist next. Therefore you learn alongside your DO colleagues, developing respect for yourself and the profession as the interprofessional team realizes you studied the same material they did. Prerequisites and Application Requirement

The first step in the admissions process is to ensure you are on track to complete both the course prerequisites and application requirements in time to apply for your preferred year of entry.

International Students: We do not require a separate application or fee, and you should be prepared to meet all of the prerequisite and application requirements as outlined. Make Yourself a Competitive Candidate

Admission to the program is competitive, we admit only 50 students, so you should strive to not only meet, but exceed the minimum requirements. There are a number of supporting materials, and it is essential that you give yourself time to have all of them prepared, to ensure that you properly submit your completed application by the deadline.

Meet with a Chapman University pre-health advisor on campus or virtually Sophomore or junior year
The pre-health advisor/s at Chapman University will evaluate and nominate suitable individuals with outstanding credentials to the WesternU/College of Podiatry Admissions Linkage Committee (the Committee)
Candidates nominated by Chapman University are then invited to submit the following items:
- An official linkage application
- Resume
- Three letters of recommendation
  - Two from a Science or Math faculty member
  - one from pre-health advisor
- Official or unofficial transcripts from ALL institutions attended should be emailed to wucolinkage@westernu.edu
