The emphasis in Sound Design is a mentor-driven, hands-on and story-centric two-year program where creativity meets technology to shape immersive experiences across film, video games and new media. The emphasis is designed to equip sound designers with the latest creative and practical skills needed to succeed and thrive as sound professionals in all areas of the media and entertainment industry.
The emphasis features the following enhanced educational opportunities:
- A strong internship placement program
- Collaboration with film production students to create short movies with high
production values.
Students pursuing the Master of Fine Arts in Film Production degree with an emphasis in Sound Design are held to the University's Academic Policies and Procedures. In addition these specific degree standards apply:
- Complete 55 credits at the 500 or 600 level.
- Minimum grade "C+" or above required in all coursework.
- Maintain 3.000 GPA in the degree.
- Successfully complete the sound on two thesis films.
