At Dodge College, we appreciate that great learning happens both in and out of the classroom. So we strongly encourage all of our students to see the world as their classroom. To that end, we offer a vast array of exhilarating, unusual and
fascinating travel courses around the globe, where students put their classroom skills
to the test in challenging and life-changing ways.
Every year Dodge students travel to countries all across Asia, Africa, Europe and
beyond in for-credit travel courses led by Dodge faculty and experienced professionals. Dodge College's travel courses are run largely in-house, and many are supported
by subsidies to make travel experiences available to as many students as possible.
In recent years students have traveled to more than six continents and 20 countries including:
- Asia: India, Japan, Laos, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan
- Europe: England, France, Iceland, Italy
- Africa: Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ghana, Mozambique, Uganda, Tanzania
- South America: Peru
- Australia, New Zealand and Cuba, as well as several cities in North America
They have explored Icelandic volcanoes, viewed magnificently restored screen gems
in the piazzas of Bologna, Italy; and created a 3D film on the summit of Africa's
highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. In many countries like Singapore and India, students
have the opportunity to work with their film school counterparts to create cross-cultural films celebrating their shared love of story-building and filmmaking.
At Dodge College, we make the planet the classroom. Making a financial contribution to our International Initiatives fund enables us
to continue to provide our students with opportunities that encourage growth and transcend
cultural identity inspiring the next generation of global citizens.
And the ripple effect is truly remarkable, igniting our students’ enthusiasm for working
with people from diverse backgrounds and giving them fresh perspectives on international
political, economic and social issues. Your tax-deductible gift of $500 will support
one student traveling abroad in one of our programs, a gift of $1,000 will support
two students and a gift of $5,000 will support 10 students.
