Biography
Dr. Erica Aguero earned her Master's and Ph.D. in Cinema and Media Studies from the
UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. Her research interests include film and
TV history; film aesthetics; media theory and criticism; film sound and music; popular
music and media; cultural studies and popular culture; and film and media genres.
She is currently working on the book project "Music That Moves: Television Music,
Industrial Travel, and Consumer Agency in Contemporary Media Culture," which examines
the cross-media travel of popular music in film, television, and digital media.
Prior to arriving at Chapman University, Dr. Aguero taught film and media courses at several Southern California institutions, including UCLA, UC Irvine, and Otis College of Art and Design.
