
Jay Adams
Biography
Jay Adams is an award-winning screenwriter known for his distinctive storytelling as a queer creator. Adams has collaborated with notable production companies and has written two short-form series for Eli Roth's Crypt TV. Currently, he is developing multiple projects and creating new feature and pilot scripts. His goal is to create work that is both entertaining and inspiring, contributing to the industry by bringing diverse and impactful stories to the screen.
He started his career as a music video producer, editor, and director, collaborating with bands such as Rancid (Hellcat Records) and The Dandy Warhols (Beat the World Records). He also worked as a local news writer for San Diego’s NBC affiliate.
Adams earned his BFA in film and television production from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco and his MFA in screenwriting from Chapman University.
In addition to his writing career, Adams mentors and volunteers with a handful of prisons, juvenile halls, and rehabilitation programs.
