Biography
Justine Van Meter earned a B.A. in Creative Writing/Literature at UC San Diego, an M.A. in Humanities
at Cal State University Dominguez Hills, and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at
Vanderbilt University. Her research and teaching specializations include modern/contemporary
Irish Literature, Postcolonial Theory and Literature, and Cultural Theory in general.
She has taught Humanities/Comparative Literature and Writing courses at Vanderbilt
University, Writing Across the Disciplines online, and currently teaches a variety
of courses at Chapman University, including World Literature, Postcolonial Literature
and Theory, Cultural Theory: Fairy Tales, FFC, and Writing About Diverse Cultures.
She is currently revising her book-length project, entitled Writing the Dying and the Dead: Irishness, Jewishness, and Gender, for publication.
