Biography

Dr. Neeloufar Fakourfar earned her PharmD from UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy and specialized in ambulatory care during her PGY1 residency at Western University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy. In 2019, she became a Clinical Assistant Professor at Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP), where she instructs first-year pharmacy students in a skills-lab course. Her teaching covers simulations, ethical principles, communication, medical terminology, and essential health fair and practice skills.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Fakourfar is a clinical ambulatory care pharmacist at Providence Medical Foundation, directly managing conditions like type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. She serves as the primary preceptor for many Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) and Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) students, guiding them through their rotations. With a focus on patient care improvement, she has expertise in implementing collaborative practice protocols and initiating impactful initiatives.

Dr. Fakourfar is also dedicated to student development, actively preparing them for post-graduate training. She co-founded a boot camp with another faculty member to help students identify their passions and progress in their careers.

Research interests:

Dr. Fakourfar's research interests encompass factors affecting medication adherence, pharmacists' roles in improving health outcomes, preparing students for post-graduate training, using OSCE and simulations in education, and promoting professional development and self-care among future pharmacists.
