
Robert Bailey
Biography
Rob Bailey is a British director and producer who has been based in Los Angeles for 20 years. His extensive body of work includes The Wire, Treme, CSI and Gotham. Most recently he returned to the UK to be producer and lead director on the MAX series Pennyworth.
He attended the National Film and Television School in the UK, where he learned from notable film and TV directors such as Stephen Frears, Derek Jarman and Wojciech Marzewski. His NFTS graduation film was bought by Channel 4 and was shown nationally. Two years after graduating, he landed his first TV directing job, which led to non-stop work in the UK, culminating in the launch of the BAFTA-winning BBC series MI-5.
Attracting attention from this, Bailey was asked to work for HBO on the emerging TV show The Wire and shortly afterwards began a long association with Jerry Bruckheimer on series such as Without a Trace, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: NY, which he produced and directed.
Other credits include Criminal Minds, Lethal Weapon, Grimm, Grey’s Anatomy and Without a Trace, among many others.
