
»Become A Student Scholar Ambassador
Student Scholar Ambassadors will be selected on the basis of their application and an interview. In addition to enthusiasm and strong communication skills, we are looking for a diversity of majors including the fine and performing arts, humanities, and social sciences. Once selected, ambassadors will receive training. Students from ALL MAJORS are encouraged to apply!
Application
Application Deadline: Sunday, December 3rd
Short answer questions (limit 650 characters, approximately 100 words):
- Why would you be a great Student Scholar Ambassador?
- What would you tell a student about your specific experience?
Interviews:
Interviews will be scheduled after the deadline (December 3rd) once the finalists have been chosen.
Responsibilities
- Giving presentations to freshman interest groups, classes, and student organizations about getting involved in undergraduate research and taking advantage of the Center for Undergraduate Excellence's funding and programming opportunities
- Represent Chapman University and CUE at various campus functions, events, classroom presentations, and panels; e.g. Student scholar Symposium, Faculty Research Expo, Lunch with a Professor, classroom presentations, workshops, and information sessions.
- Complete volunteer service hours
- Monthly meetings
- Peer mentoring office hours at the CUE Office

Eligibility
Applications are open to undergraduates in all disciplines.
You must have at least one of the following requirements to participate in this program
- Successfully completed at least one semester of a 291/491 Student/Faculty Research or Creative Activity Course
- Participated in our SURF fellowship
- Applied for or received a competitive fellowship or scholarship
- Received a Scholarly/Creative Grant
- Performed independent research that can be supported by a faculty member
- Must be comfortable with public speaking
- Commit at least 10 hours a semester to the program
