Barry and Phyllis Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education
The Rodgers Center sponsors a series of lectures and events that bring to Chapman
distinguished scholars, innovative film makers, and inspiring survivors and rescuers
of the Holocaust, as well as those who are voices for justice and human rights in
our world today.

Holocaust History Minor
Students minoring in Holocaust history take courses with faculty in the History Department,
including the holder of the Stern Chair in Holocaust Education and the founding director
of the Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education, Dr. Marilyn Harran.

Sala and Aron Samueli Holocaust Memorial Library
The library's non-circulating collection includes photographs, documents, oral histories
and books, including a first edition in Dutch of "The Diary of Anne Frank," as well
as reference works to support research on the Holocaust in its historical context.

Sala and Aron Samueli Holocaust Art & Writing Contest
The Holocaust Art & Writing Contest provides an opportunity for middle and high school
students to engage with Holocaust survivor or rescuer testimony and respond creatively
to a specific prompt. Students may participate in any of the following categories:
art, film, poetry, or prose.

Commemoration of "Kristallnacht"
The Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education and the Fish Interfaith Center present
an annual commemoration of "Kristallnacht" in remembrance of the events that shattered
a community on November 9-10, 1938.

Evening of Holocaust Remembrance
Our annual Evening of Holocaust Remembrance program is a community occasion of remembrance
and reflection. Each year, along with guest speakers and musical tributes, Holocaust
survivors and their families join us in lighting six candles in remembrance of the
millions who perished.
