»Summer Residential Conferences

June - August, Chapman University offers Residence Hall accommodations for individuals eighteen (18) years or older, all-you-care-to-eat meals in the Randall Dining Commons and a variety of meeting spaces on campus. The Conference Services Office provides a “one stop shop” for coordinating your conference needs.

Chapman University requires outside organizations to provide the following in order to rent facilities on campus:

  1. Sign the Conference Agreement (terms and rental fees will be outlined in the agreement).

  2. Provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance listing Chapman University as additionally insured (requirements are listed in the Conference Agreement).  Please Note: There are additional requirements for events involving minor participants.

  3. Submit payment by deadlines outlined in the Conference Agreement.

Accommodations

Chapman University has a variety of residence halls available from June - August that can provide rooms for your conference guests, for small and large groups. 

Henley Hall has four floors with two wings per floor. Each room includes two twin beds and a private bathroom. 

Pralle-Sodaro Hall has four floors with two wings per floor. Each room includes two twin beds with a private or shared bathroom.

Sandhu Residence Center has four floors with single and double rooms. Both private and shared bathrooms are available. Two and four bedroom suites are also available.

Glass Hall is comprised of three four-floor wings. The south and north wings have rooms that include two twin beds and a private bathroom. The center wing has apartment-style rooms that have two bedrooms joined by a common area that has a kitchen (stove, fridge, and microwave).

Morlan Hall has 3 floors with two wings. Each room includes two twin beds with a private or shared bathroom.

Every residence hall is air-conditioned with individual climate controls in each room. Laundry facilities are located in the Henley Hall basement and Davis Community Center.  Each residence hall has their own unique common areas that vary in size that conference guests are welcome to use. The residence halls also have complimentary recreational areas such as sand volleyball courts and outdoor basketball courts available for conference guest use. In addition, each residence hall has access to Chapman University's complementary WiFi.

Venues

Chapman University offers modern conference and event facilities June - August. Our lecture rooms, classrooms, and multipurpose rooms feature state-of-the-art technology and complimentary Wi-Fi. Classrooms can seat 25 - 40 guests, lecture rooms can seat 48 - 200 guests, and multipurpose rooms can seat up to 400 guests. The Chapman Auditorium can seat 930 guests.  

The Harold Hutton Sports Center Gymnasium, Holly & David Wilson Athletic Field and Zee Allred Aquatics Center are available June - August. Conference Services staff will assist Conference Directors in coordinating a successful Summer Residential Conference.

Dining & Catering

Summer Residential Conferences include all-you-care-to-eat meals in the Randall Dining Commons.

If your Summer Residential Conference requires catered meals, Chapman Catering (Sodexo) offers a great selection of fresh foods and innovative menus for all occasions. Whether you are looking for conference refreshments, a themed buffet lunch, a reception, or served dinner, Chapman Catering will customize and create the perfect menu to compliment your event and budget.

Chapman University has an exclusive catering contract with Sodexo and does not allow outside food to be brought on campus. You may work with the Conference Services Office or Chapman Catering (Sodexo) to prepare any and all of your catering orders. Services

The Conference Services Office provides setup and audio-visual equipment at no additional charge. All requests are subject to availability. Please work with the Chapman University Conference Services staff to arrange all setup and audiovisual requests at least two weeks prior to your event.

Parking

Summer Conference Parking

Complimentary parking permits are available to all Summer Residential Conferences. An electronic parking permit will be emailed to the Conference Director to distribute to attendees.

Buses & Trucks
  • If your event will be bringing either a bus or truck to the campus, please inform the Conference Services Staff so that we may assist you with coordinating the loading/unloading. Chapman University’s parking lots/structures cannot accommodate large vehicles such as buses or trucks. A parking plan for these vehicles must be coordinated prior to your arrival on campus.

City of Orange Residential Parking
  • Parking in the residential streets that surround the University requires a City of Orange parking permit. Parking on these streets may result in a parking citation from the City.
