Emergency Management (EM)

»About the Emergency Management Department

As a division under Enterprise Risk and Safety, the Department of Emergency Management is dedicated to ensuring the readiness and resilience of our entire university community. Serving a diverse population of 15,000 individuals across two campuses in three cities, our mission is to prepare, protect, and empower our whole community to effectively respond to and recover from large-scale emergencies.

Through comprehensive training programs, interactive workshops, and meticulous planning, we equip our community members with the skills and knowledge necessary to face disasters with confidence. Our continuous collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies strengthens our preparedness, ensuring that Chapman is not only ready for the unexpected but also capable of recovering swiftly.

At Chapman, we are committed to fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience, where every individual is empowered to take an active role in the safety and well-being of our community.

Emergency management at Chapman University is a collective effort, requiring the active participation of every member of our community. Whether you're a student, faculty, or staff member, your role is vital in ensuring the safety and resilience of our campus.
