»Undergraduate Research and Opportunities

At Fowler, we're committed to fostering your career as an engineer right from the start. That's why unlike most schools, we let you get involved in research as early as your first semester. Read on to find out how to get involved in research on campus, plus plenty of other great opportunities for aspiring engineers.

Engineering in action

From your core engineering classes to academic research projects and everything in between — you'll have plenty of options to build your skills as an engineer. Explore them all on our Engineering in Action page.

Faculty research

What's one of the best ways to get involved in academic research? Through your professors. They all have their own research projects, and students are welcome to join in. Check out a full list of projects on our Join a Faculty Research Project page.

Exploring engineering to its fullest

One-credit (pass/no pass) courses and engineering seminars are great ways to learn more about the subjects you are interested in outside of your core classes — and we offer both every semester.

Putting your engineering skills into practice

You'll be able to gain valuable experience and industry connections with on-campus opportunities like Make-a-Thon and the SPIRE Fellows Program. Plus, you'll gain experience doing the work real engineers do every day.
