»First-Year Student Housing Options

As a first-year student at Chapman, you are required to live on campus for your first three years unless you are living with your family within a 30-mile radius.

For your first year, you will be assigned to one of the residence halls below. All residence halls are on campus. Select a residence hall to learn more about it, including info about room occupancy, parking, amenities, and more.

Who you'll live with

Here is some information about who you will room with as a first-year student at Chapman.

  • You should expect to be housed in a triple-occupancy room.
  • You will live with assigned roommates. In your first year at Chapman, we take care of room assignments. But don’t worry: when you apply for housing, you’ll fill out a quick questionnaire about your living habits and preferences. We’ll place you with someone who answered similarly to you.
  • Your roommates and floormates will share your academic interests. All first-year students are placed in a Fenestra Living Learning Community. This means that you will live on the same floor as other students in your school/college. That way, you’ll definitely have things in common with them, including your interests and classes.

Meal plans

Meal plans are mandatory for first-year students living in Chapman housing. With a meal plan, you’ll get a set amount of meals at the Randall Dining Commons, our on-campus dining hall, using your student ID card.
