Rennolds Ostrom, Ph.D.

rostrom@chapman.eduDean Rennolds Ostrom joined CUSP in 2016 as a Professor of Pharmacology, became Interim
Dean in 2022, and was announced to be the permanent Dean in 2024. Dr. Ostrom graduated
with a B.A. in Biology from Dartmouth College in 1990. He then worked in neuropharmacology
at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy and behavioral pharmacology
for a start-up pharmaceutical company before entering graduate school. Dr. Ostrom
earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of California, Irvine in 1998.

including assisting in further developing the program to become a regional and national
leader in IPE, maintaining and expanding external partnerships and ensuring the delivery
of IPE. She is also responsible for contributing to the development of immersion learning
experiences to meet the needs of pharmacy students and other health care trainees
and professionals at the Rinker Health Science Campus. These learners include pharmacy,
physician assistant, communication disorders, physical therapy, medical and nursing
students at Chapman and other partner institutions.

Dean on budget availability, strategic planning, and resource allocation. Laura serves
as liaison and represents the School of Pharmacy with internal departments and external
agencies.

consistent and effective implementation and documentation of the CUSP assignment agenda
to inform continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

facilities, including chemical handling, recording, and storage, chemical waste handling,
as well as the receipt and distribution of laboratory supplies. He works with Environmental
Health and Safety to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Basir Syed
Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Specialist
Basir Syed is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation and maintenance
of the core facility. He monitors the safe practices in research and teaching laboratories,
as well supports the educational and research mission of the school.

Sha Webster, M.S.

users. She provides daily maintenance and support to the following lab instruments:
FACSVerse, LVEM5, confocal microscope, Keyence Microscope, Prescott Microscope, PCR
machines, Spectrophotometer, X-Ray, CT, and MRI machine. She also processes all pharmacy
lab invoices, tracks lab orders, and assists in core lab budget development.

resource for fiscal policy inquiries.
