Accounting careers generally fall under two categories: Public Accounting and Private Accounting.  Public Accounting jobs are housed in firms dedicated to providing tax and auditing services to businesses, organizations and private parties.  Private Accounting jobs are usually found within the Accounting or Finance departments of a business or organization.
