Academic Integrity Policy and University Conduct Code

All law students are subject to the University and Law School’s Academic Integrity Policies and the University Conduct Code in the Student Handbook.

Good Standing

In order to remain in good standing, a student must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 at the conclusion of every semester while attending the law school.

Probation and Dismissal

A first-year student whose cumulative grade point average falls below 2.0, but over 1.8, at the conclusion of the first semester of the first year will be placed on academic probation. A first-year student whose grade point average falls below 1.8 at the conclusion of the first semester of the first year will be dismissed from the law school. At the conclusion of the second semester of the first year, a student whose cumulative grade point average falls below 2.0 shall be dismissed from The School of Law.

Enrollment Verification

The Registrar's Office provides enrollment verification for all students to the National Student Clearinghouse on a monthly basis. This information may be accessed by lenders and employers. Students who require a letter of enrollment verification to be sent to any other third parties must complete and sign an enrollment verification request form and return it to the Registrar’s Office.

Attendance

Students are required to attend class meetings in the courses and course sections for which they have registered, and to be prepared to participate in the class discussion. Any student who has been absent from more than 20% of class meetings shall not further participate in class, shall not be allowed to sit for the final examination, and shall be given a grade of 'FW.' Students are cautioned that individual faculty may impose a higher attendance standard.
