    Faculty Research Profile

    Dr. Kelly Kennedy

    Dr. Kelly Kennedy is an Associate Professor and Director of the School Counseling and School Psychology (CSP) Programs.

    Dr. Kennedy's courses include school psychology practicum and internship (fieldwork), group counseling, multicultural counseling, assessment, program evaluation, and research methods. She has also taught travel courses to Guatemala, Cambodia, and Vietnam. In addition to mentoring M.A. and Ed.S. students, Dr. Kennedy works with students in the Ph.D. in Education program as a mentor, dissertation committee member, and chair. Dr. Kennedy's scholarly interests include program evaluation, best practices in alternative education settings, delinquency, recidivism of juvenile offenders, strength-based school psychology, culturally competent practice, tracking efficacy of interventions, supporting LGBTQ+ students, and the international practice of school psychology.

    Stephany CuevasAttallah College Faculty Grant Success

    Dr. Stephany Cuevas, Assistant Professor, has been awarded a grant of $49,015 from the Spencer Foundation. This grant supports her pivotal research project titled “Precarity and Education: Examining the Experiences of Central American Unaccompanied Youth in California Public Schools” and will be conducted in collaboration with Dr. Martha C. Franco from CSU Long Beach.

    Attallah College Graduate and Ph.D. candidates explore leadership in Iceland! After three years of travel course cancellations in the pandemic, Dr. Dawn Hunter and Dr. Whitney McIntyre Miller were thrilled to bring their “Leadership in International Contexts” class to Iceland.

    Motivated by a passion for breaking down educational barriers, Chapman University student Sarah Wilson (MACI ’23) has earned a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in South Korea.
